This mare came to live with me as a yearling, and promptly implanted herself so firmly in my life, that all else paled in comparison to her. My riding horse for many years, she suffered a joint injury and was designated to strictly broodmare and my confidante. Myria was an AWESOME broodmare, she produced better than herself with every foal. Her career as a broodmare resulted in 8 babies of which 7 were colts and only 1 filly.
On a sunny May morning approx. 6:00am I awoke from a restless sleep and my first thought was to go and check on my best friend who was now 2 weeks overdue. That morning my life was changed forever. My friend was lost to me, but although God had chosen to take her way too early, he had given me a gift. For there I found a strong handsome black tobiano colt frantically running around the foaling stall where his mother had given her life to give him his.
Yes, my life changed that morning, but with the support and love of family and dear friends I have managed to pick up the pieces and go on. I have paid my tributes in the best way I can to my departed friend and I vow that her foal will never leave my side and will know the love and care his mother did her whole life.
Thank you for taking the time to read Myria's story and view pictures of my beautiful girl. If you have found your way to this webpage, then you probably have a special friend of your own. So today, go out and hug and kiss your horse and tell them how special they are. For life is too short and you must cherish every single minute you have with them. God Bless !!!!!!
